On August 25, 2019, at around 1:30 p.m., a fatal accident took place in the municipality of Inca (Mallorca, Spain ) in which seven people died when an ultralight and a helicopter crashed into the air , setting both aircraft on fire and the first falling near the road from Sencelles to Sineu , and the second on private property, without other people other than passengers having been affected.

The two-seater Aeroprakt A22L2 aircraft with EC-GU1 identification, built in 2017 and registered in Spain, which had left the Binissalem airfield a few minutes before the impact, was occupied by two Spaniards, the pilot Juanjo Vidal and his companion Gustavo Serrano.

The Bell 206L3 Long Rager helicopter (from the German company Rotorflug ) , D-HOTT , based at the Son Bonet ( Marratxi ) airfield was piloted by the Italian Cedric Leoni and carried on board four members of a German family, parents August and Christina Inselkammer , and their minor children, Max and Sophia .

Both pilots seemed to be experienced aviators, which has caused the consternation of the sector.

The collision would have occurred below one thousand feet high, in an area of free movement and without any having been aware of the presence of the other aircraft, in circumstances still unknown that will be elucidated in the investigation, first police and then judicial that is carried out. Although both devices have GPS, they would not be equipped with a navigation system connected to a control center.

In this procedure the appropriate responsibilities of the tragic incident will also be clarified.
